  Northern Champion Mine

The Northern Champion mine, (formerly named the Spain mine) is located in south-central Ontario, Canada, near the town of Renfrew.  The roughly 700-acre claim group contains molybdenite deposits in two different types of formations located near the surface.  The mine and a NI 43-101 Technical Report was acquired by Golden Phoenix in 2006.

Beginning early in the last century, small-scale mining took place at Northern Champion when molybdenum was identified as a useful additive to steel to increase its strength and heat resistance. In 2003 an NI 43-101 Technical report was commissioned by the former owner, which provides a basis for further delineation and exploration of the property going forward (NI 43-101 pdf).  Please review the report for photos, maps and a detailed description of the mineralization potential of the property.
